John Soutsos is one of IPC's most senior professionals with over 35 years of experience. John has been providing professional wealth management services since 1986 and his team serves a select number of high net worth families. He graduated from York University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Economics. He worked with a major Canadian bank for two years prior to opening his practice.
His primary role is the day-to-day management of his Med-Wealth Defensive Growth model portfolio which is a core component of each of his various asset-allocation models that range from 50% to 100% stocks. Med-Wealth Defensive Growth is a concentrated U.S. stock portfolio designed to enhance overall returns using his ‘Portfolio Boost’ strategy.
As a discretionary Portfolio Manager (PM), through his Med-Wealth Financial Services operation, John specializes in Private Wealth Management solutions primarily for physicians within 10 years of retirement, as well as those already retired.
A typical person seeking John’s guidance is somebody who has accumulated a portfolio of over $500,000 and wants a more personal, sophisticated, and comprehensive approach, than what is typically offered at banks and other financial planning firms. Although John serves primarily medical professionals, among his client base he also has clients from diverse employment backgrounds such as pharmacists, business owners, accountants, and lawyers.
He also deals with people who have experienced life changes such as those who have recently experienced the death of a spouse, a marital breakdown, or are transitioning to retirement.
John's extensive knowledge base and dynamic personality have landed him on several radio programs in the past. John will work as your personal “Financial Quarterback” to help you make intelligent decisions about money. His exceptional knowledge of economic and market history, as well as investor psychology, make him uniquely qualified to serve the most discriminating clients.
John and his team also work with clients to create Estate Plans for the efficient transfer of wealth to the next generation. In addition, his team reviews insurance needs in the area of Life, Disability, Mortgage, Critical Illness, Long-Term Care, as well as Travel Insurance.*
His personable and caring manner has especially endeared him to retirees and widows. Simplifying financial matters and putting them into perspective is a quality that is highly regarded by those left alone after a spouse’s death or divorce. Extensive, regular, and timely communications, including the use of a weekly market commentary and periodic webinars, as well as his utilization of a defined process for decision-making, will provide you with the financial peace of mind you deserve.
The perspective that only experience can offer is the most valuable asset that he can provide clients in guiding them through to obtain both their short and long-term financial goals.

At IPC, we built IPC Cares to bring together the various efforts we make towards enhancing the communities within which we operate. By adopting causes that are close to our hearts, we keep ourselves committed and accountable.
Last year alone, as a company, we supported the aid efforts on the Fort McMurray fires, palliative care through The Healing Cycle Foundation and women and children through The Salvation Army.
Perhaps the most significant effort we undertake, and one that we believe is representative of the kind of work that inspires and keeps us committed to our CSR efforts, is the community development project in Honduras with The Carpenteros & Friends. Last year’s project involved a group of IPC staff and Advisors volunteering their time and energy on the ground. Very little is as inspiring and rewarding as living the lives of the people you’re helping, and every one of the people who took the journey came back a changed person, even more determined to stay committed to making a difference in the world!
We also made countless small but significant contributions of our time and resources within our communities through many grassroots charities we believe in, and the ripple effect of their efforts are always rewarding.
